Position Title: Staff Accountant

 

Location: Westford, MA

 

Position Summary:

 

The Staff Accountant at our Westford office is a key member of the GL team within the finance department, with both day to day responsibilities and close responsibilities. The Staff Accountant collaborates with a wide variety of employees who are within the finance department, other departments, and other Ribbon offices around the world. The Staff Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager at Westford.

 

 

Experience and Skills:

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile various balance sheet accounts, including petty cash, deposits, intangible assets, general accruals, deferred rent, accrued vacation, rent and utilities, payroll, and T&E expenses

  • Perform foreign currency translation, expense allocation, and consolidation processes across all entities within the system

  • Maintain accurate foreign currency rates within the system

  • Reconcile all intercompany transactions, as well as certain international balance sheet accounts

  • Prepare monthly financial statements, close binders, and SEC filing disclosure schedules

  • Reconcile VAT accounts periodically and assist with collection of VAT refunds

  • Maintain an accurate fixed asset subledger through review of new fixed asset tagging and performing cycle counts of existing assets

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide supporting schedules and transaction documentation

  • Perform procedures and maintain documentation in compliance with SOX

  • Process wire payments as needed

  • Assist management with various department projects, workpaper creation, process improvement, and basic memos

 

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in accounting

  • 0-3 years of relevant accounting experience

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Experience with Oracle a plus

  • Excellent written and spoken communication

  • Ability to work independently and on a team

  • Ability to maintain detailed workpapers that are error-free

  • An eagerness to learn and take ownership of new tasks and responsibilities

  • Ability to stay organized while prioritizing various tasks and deadlines
