Job Description:

Sonus Networks is always interested in finding talented students who have the skills required to meet our future employment needs.  Our intern/co-op program is designed to recruit exceptional individuals to a broad spectrum of positions within Sonus.  The Program offers professional experience and training opportunities to students that meet their educational and professional goals and interests.

We currently have a co-op position available for a student pursuing a career in software engineering.  Our engineering department is seeking a self-motivated, hardworking and creative Computer Science or Computer Engineering student with strong software development and test skills to help design, implement, triage and test complex telecom signaling software.   Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: software development, debugging, testing, documenting and fixing software coding errors.  

Experience and Skills:

    • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree program in Computer Science/Electrical/Computer/Telecommunications Engineering at an accredited college or university.

    • Working experience in one or more of the (HTTP, REST, SIP)

    • Understanding of IP networking technologies.

    • General experience with Linux.

    • Hands on experience of at least one scripting language such as bash, Python or Perl.

       

      Desirable/ some exposure to:

    • C/C++

    • Testing Tools : CppUnit, JUnit, iperf, good to have: SIPp

    • Knowledge of Cloud based architectures such as OpenStack, AWS, Google or Azure

    • General exposure to Linux security issues and best practices.
